Retrofit sealing strips for historic windows and doors
The Dichtungsklick sealing strip is a straightforward solution for retrofitting old wooden windows with an effective seal. When the window is closed, the sash presses against the silicone seal, noticeably reducing draughts, cold air and outside noise.
The strips are supplied in fixed lengths and can be cut to size using standard tools. Ideal for anyone who wants to seal their windows themselves—without drilling or damaging the window frame.
How it works

This is how Dichtungsklick works.

This way you save on heating costs, protect your home from street noise and drafts, and maintain the comfort of a modern window – at a fraction of the cost of a new installation.
Are my windows suitable for Dichtungsklick?
Dichtungsklick was developed for wooden windows, which are still found in many older buildings. If you're unsure, send us a photo of your windows via WhatsApp.
Do I need my landlord's permission?
No! Since no drilling or similar is required on the window frame for installation and the strips can be removed at any time, Dichtungsklick is also ideal for tenants.
Here's what our customers say:
Virtually invisible.
Our seal sits where you'd hardly notice it – inside the inner frame of your window. The narrow strip of real wood blends seamlessly into the existing window and remains virtually invisible when closed. Its delicate shape and natural surface make it look like part of the original – no plastic, no foreign element, no visual compromises. Just more peace and quiet, less cold, and a window that looks the same as always – only better.
For a restful sleep.
Street noise often penetrates living spaces through old, leaky windows, especially in older apartments on busy streets. The additional silicone seal reliably closes the gap between the window sash and frame, significantly reducing traffic noise. The result: a quieter indoor climate, less disruptive noise, and restful sleep. Ideal for bedrooms. This way, the charming look of the old windows is preserved while bringing the tranquility of a modern new building.
Less particulate matter.
Leaky windows not only let in cold air and noise, but also fine dust from the outside air – especially in apartments located on busy streets. The additional silicone seal closes even the smallest gaps in the window frame, significantly reducing the ingress of dust particles and exhaust fumes. This ensures cleaner indoor air and a healthier living environment – a noticeable difference, especially in children's rooms or for families with young children.

questions and answers
Measure
How do I measure correctly?
For Dichtungsklick, you need the inside measurement of your interior window. Measuring is quick and easy with a few tricks. You can find our instructions here.
I've mismeasured myself - what now?
No problem! Just contact us directly. Together we'll find a solution. If a strip is completely unsuitable, we'll send you a suitable one free of charge.
Do I need to measure before ordering?
No. You can easily submit your window measurements after you've ordered the trim. After we receive your order, we'll send you a form where you can enter your window measurements.
Assembly and application
How is Dichtungsklick attached?
The strip is glued directly onto the window frame using high-quality double-sided adhesive tape – without any drilling or screws.
Can I install Dichtungsklick myself?
Yes, self-installation is easily possible with simple wooden windows and box-type windows. Instructions are included.
How long does the installation take?
Depending on the window size, installation takes approximately 5 to 30 minutes per window. The first window usually takes a little longer, but once you get the hang of it, the subsequent windows go faster.
Do I need any special tools?
No. You only need a clean cloth to clean the frame. Ideally, very fine sandpaper and acetone or other alcohol to degrease the adhesive surface.
If you are not ordering the strips to measure, you may need scissors and a saw, ideally also a miter gauge, to cut the strips and seals to length.
Heat, noise and comfort
How much energy can I save with Dichtungsklick?
Depending on the condition of the windows, savings of up to 20% on heating costs are possible, as drafts and heat loss are significantly reduced.
However, this depends heavily on the condition and quality of your windows, their correct installation, and other factors in your apartment.
Does Dichtungsklick also help against road noise?
Yes, Dichtungsklick can reduce sound transmission by up to 50% – especially noticeable in single-glazed windows in older buildings.
Could the seal promote mold growth?
No – if you ventilate properly. The improved airtightness makes short bursts of ventilation more important. This prevents condensation from forming in the frame and becoming trapped inside the apartment due to the better seal. At the same time, the improved seal prevents cold drafts, which can also lead to mold growth.
Compatibility and disassembly
Do I need my landlord's permission for the installation?
Generally, no. Dichtungsklick is installed without drilling or screws and can be removed without leaving any residue. Therefore, the measure is considered a minor alteration under current legal precedent.
Such measures do not permanently affect the structure or appearance of the apartment and can be reversed without damage. Therefore, they are considered part of the contractual use of the rented property (§ 535 BGB) and generally do not require the landlord's consent. If in doubt, it is advisable to briefly notify the landlord of the planned measure in writing – however, approval is usually not necessary.
Is Dichtungsklick suitable for all windows?
Dichtungsklick is optimized for classic wooden frame windows, especially older windows with single or double sashes. The system is not designed for plastic frames.
Feel free to contact us via WhatsApp or our contact form and send us photos of your windows. This will allow us to assess whether our system is suitable. Often, one of our other systems, which we sell on a case-by-case basis, will be a better fit.
Can I remove Dichtungsklick without leaving any residue?
Yes, the adhesive tape used can be removed without damaging the frame – ideal for rented apartments.
This, however, requires that the frame is in good condition before installation and is handled with care during use. Additionally, removal must be carried out carefully and thoughtfully. For example, a cutting wire and adhesive remover can be used for removal.
Does this also work for listed buildings?
Yes, because nothing is drilled or screwed in, and the appearance of the window remains completely intact.
